About Us

About Our Chapter

Fort Atkinson-Eli Pierce Chapter, NSDAR, celebrated its 124th anniversary as a chapter in 2023. The Fort Atkinson Chapter, NSDAR, first met on February 22, 1899. Our members are local community members throughout southern Wisconsin. We welcome any woman who meets the criteria for DAR membership.

In keeping with the DAR's commitment to historic preservation, education, patriotism, and honoring the Patriots of the American Revolutionary War, our chapter participates in a variety of activities. Our members celebrate Constitution Week in the community, we work on a designated project for the NSDAR Day of Service in October which often focuses on historic preservation, we participate in Veteran's Day and Memorial Day celebrations, we lay wreaths on the graves, we volunteer through our local communities, we celebrate Washington's Birthday and President's Day, and gather together at chapter meetings to learn about various programs related to patriotism, education and historical preservation. Throughout the year, we also meet with other DAR chapters and members. We raise funds throughout the year to support our chapter and other community non-profit organizations.

Our chapter is active in the DAR Good Citizens Awards where we honor local area high school students. To learn more about DAR Good Citizens see the NSDAR website
